A few weekends ago, a group of friends and I wandered up to Quinault lake. It was a beautiful afternoon, just warm enough to wear shorts but still cool enough to where a long sleeve in the shade. We ended up walking a four-mile round trip hike into the woods near Quinault Lake. There are many routes to take but we wanted to go by a couple of the water falls. This walk isn’t difficult. There are a few ups and downs and a small rock area, but for the most part hikers of all ages and experiences can take on this walk. Dogs are allowed on the path as well. We got to see some very large cedar trees some that one can build small houses in. there is a beautiful lodge you can stay at when visiting Quinault and lots of other trails that lead around the lake and deep within the Olympic Peninsula forest. A very steady hike and a good warm-up for longer hikes.
