The concept of pumpkin spice didn’t occur to me until I started working at a coffee shop that served pumpkin spice lattes. Sure, I tried pumpkin pie but not as a flavoring. It was interesting. Pumpkin spice consists of cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, ginger, and allspice. It doesn’t have any pumpkin in it at all. Which I find odd. I definitely liked it with white mocha. The spice was either not enough or too much when other baristas would make it for me. For me, there had to be just the right about of consistent flavor to dub it one of my favorite fall drinks.
As an overall review, I don’t care either way. So a thumbs up! It’s nice to have on a fall day but as a year-round thing? Probably not. If I had to choose pumpkin spice or salted caramel mocha, I would choose the salted caramel mocha. I’m a pretty big fan of sweet. Do you like pumpkin spice? If not what is your favorite fall drink?
