Springtime is fast approaching and there are a few ways I can tell. One it’s getting lighter out, two flowers are starting to sprout and bloom and three my kitties Ziva and Saber get a little chittery. We have large windows in the house we live in and whenever there are birds outside singing in the trees, Ziva and saber are on the edge of the window making the weirdest noises. Their ears forwards and tails twitching as they watch birds gather materials for their nest. If you haven’t heard a cat chitter you are in for a treat. To me, it sounds like they are snickering at something. I learned the sounds they make with their mouths are to attract their prey. Though Ziva and Saber are both inside kitties they still have primal instincts to hunt. To let them exert their energy, they chase the laser around the house and I hang up a toy from a stretchy string for them to jump and attack. I also hide their toys with little treats inside. During spring they have so much energy to hunt, find these are the best ways to keep them entertained. I figure the next fun thing for the kitties entertainment is to put up a bird feeder.
What is something you enjoy about spring?
Keep kicking and smiling! -TJ Banski
