Taking the Leap

Taking the Leap

The first steps to achieving your goals are deciding to do it! When? Now!

You’re taking that first step into achieving your goal! Wow, it’s scary to think about! I mean you’re wanting to get something done! Whether it is starting your own business, blog, YouTube channel, you’re not exactly sure where to start. That’s the fun thing about it is doing that baseline research so figuring out what works, what doesn’t work or just winging. Taking that first step and putting yourself in front of that camera or putting out that first publication of a blog or talking with a mentor, seeing what that happens where that takes you, either way, it’s taking that step.

There are some things to keep in mind when you’re wanting to take the leap into those first steps.

Overthinking:

I tended to overthink a lot when I was younger I would overanalyze everything and that stopped me from doing some of the things that I wanted to do. When I started my blog I had all these different reasons why not to do it. One it gets my face out there or gets my message out there. What if people don’t like it? What if I don’t get an audience right away? What if I don’t reach the readers that I want to? That’s part of the risk. It’s all risky. Life is risky! Walking outside and breathing the air could be risky. Everything has risk so don’t overthink about it.

Procrastination:

Back in high school, there were a couple different situations where I just procrastinated. I would wait until literally two days maybe the day before to get an assignment done or wait until the very last minute to make a decision if I want to go to a dancer or something like that or go to an event with somebody. That procrastination held me back from experiencing life at the fullest.  I decided a few years ago with that I didn’t want to do that anymore. I wanted to have a good plan yes but like also decide then and there if hey I’m gonna commit to it. I’m gonna go for it rather than procrastinating and letting it slide per se and possibly regret it later.

Know your reasons for starting:

How bad do you want it? When you’re taking that first leap to remember your reasons why you are starting your goal or why you’re starting your dream or your business or your blog or your YouTube channel. Remember the whys remember your personal reasons on why you want to get your message out there, get your voice heard. Is it because you want fame? Is it because you want fortune? Is it a little bit of both? Is it to reach that one audience member that you can connect with and say hey this is gonna be awesome? Or hey this is some fun stuff that I do come join me? Either way, it’s how bad do you want it? how bad do you want to reach your goals?

Those are the three big things to remember to and overcome when figuring out when to take the leap. But hey there’s never a wrong time to take that leap. Do it now! Why not start now? Start a little bit at a time. Go for a run, go wake up a little bit earlier do things that are a little bit out of the ordinary for you to create those habits to then take that leap to do the big thing that you want to do. Again, success doesn’t happen overnight it’s a gradual increase in your habits and a gradual increase in the growth of your mindset.

Take the leap!
